Learning To Love – Sheryl Browne

Book Description

Sometimes help comes from the most unlikely places …

Living in a small village like Hibberton, it’s expected that your neighbours help you in a time of need. But when Andrea Kelly’s house burns down, taking all her earthly possessions with it, it’s the distant and aloof Doctor David Adams – the person she would least expect – who opens his door not just to her, but to her three kids and slightly dotty elderly mother as well.

Andrea needs all the help she can get, dealing with aftermath of the fire and in the suspicious absence of her husband, Jonathan. But, as she gets to know David and his troubled son, Jake, she begins to realise that maybe they need her help as much as she needs theirs …

My Thoughts

I´m always on the look-out for something new to read. Some nights go well and I end up becoming as poor as a church mouse ( damn you, Amazon) and some nights are unsuccessful, leaving me utterly frustrated because I didn´t find anything new to read.

While scanning through Twitter the other night I spotted a tweet for `Learning to Love`. I saw the cover, downloaded the book seconds after and began to read.

I loved it.

`Learning to Love` was funny, romantic, chaotic, and not so far fetched. It was also exactly what I was looking for. I´m a total sucker for romance and having the chance to read a simple yet powerful romance just made my day/week/month.

It was a pleasure to get to read a story I, personally, could relate to. Yes, 3 kids can be a handful. Yes, word spreads faster than lightning, especially if you live in a village. Yes, when something´s fishy- you will definitely get an earful of the gossip. And it surely won´t go unnoticed when a good looking guy with a child moves into town, just as Doctor David Adams did in the story * insert fangirl sigh*

The characters were beyond wonderful in this read because each and everyone of them were so prominent. There were bickering teenagers, an active toddler, a dubious husband, a demented mother, pushy neighbors, a resentful and envious friend, a hot neighbor with a child who hated him and then there was Andrea who I loved to bits…. I had no troubles at all visualizing them.

` Learning to Love ` is a true heartwarming classic romance! A rare gem you don´t want to miss out on.

Sharyl Browne created a spectacular piece of work and for that I thank her dearly.

The Cover – 5 stars ( It´s simple and doesn´t really give anything away.)

The Story – 5 stars ( It doesn´t get more real than this. It´s totally worth a re-read and a re-re-read)

The Characters – 5 stars ( Although I loved them all I loved Dee a bit more. )

My emotional state after finishing this story – So utterly happy!

I´m giving Learning to Love, by Sheryl Browne, 5 out of 5 stars

  2. Thank you so much, Morgana, for choosing my book, reading my book, loving it and taking the trouble to post such a truly fabulous review. When that gremlin self-doubt comes knocking and the balls are just a wee bit too heavy to be juggling (life being what it is), this is just the tonic an author needs. I love it! Thrilled to bits! #amwriting! 🙂 xx
